From self-consciousness to physical limitations, many overweight people feel that their size is keeping them from being the person they truly are. People who are overweight are also at risk for developing serious health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke, arthritis, and gallbladder disease. As a chronic disease, obesity requires lifelong treatment and medical care.
The aim of the 8 week program is to give people the right information and environ-ment to ensure safe long-term weight loss, and to be a constant source of inspiration, support and advice. Also help clients make sense of the many complex and often mixed messages relating to nutrition and exercise, as well as highlighting key issues that will genuinely impact long-term weight loss, and optimise health. Each week provides a pres-entation based upon the 8 essential compo-nents of successful weight loss. Followed by an activity/ exercise class. Physical activity is an essential element of successful weight loss, and done correctly it will greatly improve general health and vitality, The course provides an exciting and fun program of activities designed to cater for all abilities, including people who have not exercised for many years.
You we learn how losing weight will reduce your risk for disease, how increasing your physical activity will effect your weight loss efforts and about behaviours that lead to weight loss success. There are tips for eating, shopping and increasing your activity level.
