Are You Ready For An Autumn Ramble?
Four days in the Highlands designed for busy people who need space to breathe, move and feel like themselves again. We’ll base ourselves in Fort William (the outdoor capital of the UK), then spend the weekend chasing classic Highland ridgelines — with good food, great company and a well-earned celebration. The mission is simple: Let's get out and enjoy ourselves before winter Sounds easy, It's not BUT you choose what you want to do! |

Day 1 - Friday
Oxford to Fort William We’ll depart Oxford heading towards our early flight from Birmingham airport to Glasgow. We will pick up the hire cars and make our to our first little afternoon tester walk - A 4–5 hour walk around Loch Lomond with the option to climb Ben Lomond is one of those days that reminds you why Scotland hits differently. We’ll follow lochside paths with constant water views, then, if conditions and the group are up for it, head onto Ben Lomond (974m) — a classic Munro with a steady, rewarding ascent. From the summit you get a full panorama: the loch stretching south, the Highlands rising north, and that feeling of proper space. Expect a supportive pace, plenty of stops, and a strong finish you’ll feel proud of. Onwards to Fort William Once we arrive and have checked in, it’s time to settle in, stretch the legs with a gentle walkabout, then head out for dinner. |

Day 2 - Saturday
The Lochaber 4000s (our big mountain day) 10 hours Saturday is the main event: an attempt on the Lochaber 4000s — a collection of Scotland’s highest peaks in the Ben Nevis range. The Lochaber 4000s is a popular name for a big mountain challenge in the Lochaber area (around Fort William) where you aim to summit the local peaks that are over 4,000 feet (about 1,220 metres). In plain English: big mountains, dramatic ridgelines, and views that make you forget your inbox exists. Depending on conditions and the group, our route will aim to link several classic summits such as:
This is a full-day hike with a serious sense of achievement. We’ll move steadily, manage energy, and make smart calls on the day — the goal is a safe, memorable mountain experience. Expect: early start, big effort, big reward. |

Day 3 - Sunday
We’ll aim for a 6-hour hike in nearby Glencoe A strong day out that’s challenging but more flowing than Saturday. Think: moving well, soaking it up, and finishing with that satisfied, tired-in-a-good-way feeling. The Route will include Bidean nam Bian, which they is the beating heart of Glencoe — a mountain that feels dramatic before you’ve even taken a step. Rising above the glen with steep faces, hidden corries and knife-edged ridgelines, it’s a proper Highland summit that demands respect and rewards you in equal measure. The route draws you into wild, rocky terrain where every turn opens up a new view: the Three Sisters laid out beneath you, the dark sweep of the glen stretching away, and the distant shimmer of lochs and sea on a clear day. This is not a “tick-box” hill. It’s an experience — a day of steady effort, careful footwork, and that quiet satisfaction that comes from moving well in big landscapes. If you want a mountain that changes your headspace, Bidean does it. Sunday evening we’ll mark the weekend properly with celebration drinks. Expect: classic scenery, steady miles, and a proper toast to what you’ve just done. |

Day 4- Monday
After the big weekend on the hills, today is all about recovery and a gentle reset. We’ll take a leisurely morning in Fort William — a slow wander, a proper coffee, a chance to stretch the legs and soak up that Highland atmosphere one last time. No rushing, no pressure, just good conversation and the satisfaction of what we’ve achieved together. Late morning we’ll begin the steady journey down to Glasgow Airport, after lunch on Loch Lomond. Keeping things calm and organised for an evening flight back to Birmingham. From there it’s onward home — tired in the best way, recharged, and ready for winter |
