Great Day in the Black Mountains: What You’re Capable of (With the Right People Around You)
0 Comments
If you’re a busy professional, you already know the frustrating truth:
Health and fitness is rarely the problem — time, stress and consistency are. You can have the best intentions in the world, but when work is relentless, family life is full, and your brain never really switches off, the usual advice falls flat. Generic gym programmes assume you’ve got spare hours, endless motivation and a body that behaves perfectly - That’s not real life. The Project Active Way is built for real people with real schedules. It’s an innovative step forwards because it isn’t “just training”. It’s a clear pathway that blends mindset, health, fitness and real-world adventure — designed to help you move forwards even when life is busy. Why traditional methods don’t stick Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy - They fail because the plan doesn’t fit.
Project Active flips that model - The Project Active Pathway (built around you) Instead of throwing you into a one-size-fits-all routine, we take you through a structured, progressive pathway. It started as weight loss (because weddings do that)
Phil and Gaby came to me with a goal that will feel familiar if you’re engaged: lose a bit of weight and look great for the spring wedding. Totally normal. Completely human. But they also arrived with something else — even if they couldn’t name it yet. As the year draws to a close, it is both a privilege and a necessity to pause and reflect on the journey we have shared at Project Active. 2025 has been a year defined by resilience, transformation, and the unyielding spirit of our Tribe. Each month brought its own unique challenges and triumphs, which we have captured in our blog and now present as a comprehensive review.
This timeline not only celebrates our milestones but also serves as a testament to the power of community, adventure, and purposeful coaching. Have a look and ask yourself - Would I like to be a part of this? The crisp Welsh air, biting but invigorating, was our welcome.Ahead lay Snowdon, a formidable beast demanding respect. With me were my two companions:
Our mission: an epic loop starting with the classic Llanberis Path up Snowdon, a descent via the rugged Pyg Track, and then a serious test of endurance—the demanding climb onto the neighbouring Glyderau. Scaling Peaks and Making a Difference: TEAM Blenheim Palace Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Triumph!9/26/2025 It was an absolute pleasure to play a part in the Blenheim Palace team's incredible effort to raise a fantastic amount for Dementia Oxfordshire.
We're still buzzing from the experience, and this morning marked a very special moment: the honor of presenting the Dementia Oxfordshire team with a cheque for £5,584.00, the spectacular result of our successful Three Peaks Challenge More Than Just Mountains The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a test of endurance, teamwork, and sheer willpower and is is no small feat. Every step was hard-won, but knowing the "why"—raising funds for the invaluable work of Dementia Oxfordshire—fueled every single team member. The journey was about more than conquering mountains; it was about demonstrating what a group of committed people can achieve when they rally behind a powerful cause. The camaraderie, the encouragement, and the shared exhaustion forged bonds that will last far longer than the memory of aching muscles. The school bags are nearly packed, the uniforms are ready to be ironed, and a peaceful house awaits... You've spent weeks preparing everyone else for their fresh start - but what about yours? Bringing you back to get ready for an evening meal and drinks back in Woodstock. The Yorkshire Three Peaks isn't just a tough ramble;
It's a truly monumental test of endurance, spirit, and teamwork. For the incredible Team Blenheim, their recent adventure became an unforgettable saga of sheer grit, profound self-discovery, and an absolutely cracking fundraising achievement, raking in over £4,500 (and still counting!) for Dementia Oxford. Their epic journey across 24 miles and up a staggering 5,200 feet of ascent was a powerful demonstration of how unwavering mental resilience and brilliant collective support can conquer any personal challenge. The day itself dawned spectacularly. As the sun began to peek over the horizon, casting the imposing silhouette of Pen-y-Ghent in a glorious amber glow, the stage was set for something truly special. Every single member of Team Blenheim, a wonderfully diverse bunch, felt the immediate strain as they began the steep climb. Early on, those inevitable individual struggles started to emerge. For some, the sheer scale of the challenge sparked moments of quiet self-doubt – a tiny whisper of "can I really do this?" Yet, these fleeting moments of nervousness were swiftly drowned out by the rising tide of camaraderie and cheer. A shared laugh, a supportive hand on the back, or a simple, heartfelt "you've got this!" became the perfect antidote to any fear, pushing personal anxieties aside for the greater good of the team. Conquering Challenges, One Step at a Time:
Blenheim Palace to Yorkshire Three Peaks! Another day, another brilliant (and undeniably hot!) adventure in the books! This past week, I had the absolute pleasure of joining the fantastic team from Blenheim Palace for a challenging 15-mile training walk. The sun was certainly making its presence known, but the spirits were high as we pounded the pavements and trails, all with our sights set on a much bigger goal. Next month, this incredible group will be taking on the mighty Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. For those unfamiliar, it's a formidable trek across some of Yorkshire's most iconic peaks, a true test of endurance and teamwork. And they're not just doing it for the personal achievement; they're doing it to raise vital funds and awareness for Dementia Care UK. It’s moments like these that truly highlight what I love about my job. At its core, I believe my role is about connecting brilliant people, understanding their ambitions, and then helping to make that magic happen. Witnessing the dedication and passion of individuals like the Blenheim Palace team, who are willing to push their limits for such a worthy cause, is incredibly inspiring. These are genuinely awesome people doing truly great things. What a Scorcher!
What an incredible day it was! A massive thank you to every single person who joined us for our Banbury to Oxford Canal walk. Despite the truly scorching heat, we had an absolutely fantastic time, covering an amazing 28 miles through the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. The sun certainly put us through our paces, but the atmosphere was electric. It was a day brimming with good people and even better banter. Laughter and encouraging words filled the air as we navigated the scenic towpath. And let's not forget the crucial fuel that kept our spirits high and our legs moving: some seriously delicious sausage rolls and well-deserved ice cream stops! These little treats were more than just snacks; they were moments of shared joy and much-needed refreshment. |
