As the sun lingers longer in the sky and the promise of summer truly blossoms, there's a unique call to escape the everyday hustle and embrace the tranquility of the water. We're thrilled to announce the return of our highly anticipated Summer SUP evening sessions, designed to help you wind down your Wednesdays in the most invigorating and blissful way imaginable. Starting every Wednesday from July 23rd, these sessions offer the perfect twilight escape. Imagine gliding across calm waters as the day's last light paints the sky, the gentle rhythm of your paddle accompanying the peaceful hush of the evening. It's more than just a paddle; it's an opportunity to reconnect with nature, clear your mind, and find a profound sense of calm before the week gets into full swing. Good for the Body, Even Better for the Mind! We often talk about the physical benefits of Stand Up Paddleboarding, and they are indeed numerous. SUP is a fantastic, low-impact, full-body workout that subtly engages your core, enhances your balance, and improves coordination. It's a superb way to build strength and get some gentle cardiovascular exercise without the jarring impact of other activities. But beyond the undeniable physical perks, the mental benefits of SUP, especially in the serene evening hours, are truly transformative. Stepping onto your board and leaving the shore behind allows you to shed the day's stresses. The vastness of the water, the quiet natural surroundings, and the focus required for paddling all contribute to a meditative experience. It's a chance to practice mindfulness, to be truly present in the moment, and to let go of worries. Many find it's their ultimate form of therapy, a chance to recharge their batteries in the most refreshing way possible. Your Weekly Escape: Lower Heyford to the Thames Each Wednesday, we'll be aiming to launch from somewhere between Lower Heyford & North Oxford at The Thames River, at 19:00, embarking on a delightful 90-minute paddle that will see us navigating the serene waters as dusk settles. Following our invigorating session, we'll head to a local establishment for a well-earned pint and some friendly banter. It's the perfect social antidote to a busy day, allowing you to connect with fellow paddlers and share stories of your on-water adventures. Are These Sessions for You? It's important to note that these evening sessions are specifically aimed at competent SUP enthusiasts. To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, participants should have a good grasp of basic paddleboarding techniques, including launching, steering, and self-rescue. If you're confident on your board and comfortable with a 90-minute paddle, then you're exactly who we're looking for! New to SUP or Need Kit? We've Got You Covered! If the thought of these blissful paddles truly excites you, but you're not yet confident on a SUP, don't despair! I am here to help you get started. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me directly to book a few private coaching sessions. I can provide the personalised instruction you need to get up to speed and join us on the water. For those who are competent but might not have all their own gear, we also offer kit hire. Simply get in touch with us in advance to arrange all the required equipment, ensuring you have everything you need for a smooth and enjoyable evening on the water. Cost & Booking I believe in our paddling community, and as such, these Summer SUP evening sessions are complimentary to all my 'Tribe' people. It's our way of saying thank you for your continued support and dedication. For Non-Members, the cost is a very reasonable £20.00 pay and play with your own kit.
