Project Active is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable mountain biking experience for all junior members. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviour of all participants, including riders, parents/guardians, and volunteers.
By joining our group, you agree to adhere to these guidelines.
1. Respect and Inclusivity:
Treat everyone with respect and courtesy, regardless of their skill level, background, or abilities.
Avoid any form of bullying, harassment, discrimination, or offensive language.
Encourage and support fellow riders, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Respect the rights and feelings of others.
2. Safety and Responsibility:
Always follow the instructions of ride leaders and volunteers.
Wear appropriate safety gear, including a properly fitted helmet, and ensure your bike is in good working order.
Ride within your ability and be aware of your surroundings.
Respect the environment and follow the Countryside Code, including staying on designated trails and avoiding littering.
Report any safety concerns or incidents to a ride leader immediately.
Do not tamper with or damage any trail features.
Follow the rules of the trail, including giving way to other trail users.
3. Participation and Teamwork:
Arrive on time for rides and activities.
Participate actively and positively in group activities.
Work together as a team and support each other.
Listen to and respect the opinions of others.
Communicate any concerns or issues to a ride leader.
4. Parents/Guardians:
Ensure your child is equipped with appropriate safety gear and a well-maintained bike.
Respect the decisions of ride leaders and volunteers.
Provide accurate and up-to-date medical and emergency contact information.
Communicate any concerns or issues to a ride leader.
Support your child's participation and encourage positive behaviour.
Adhere to all parking and drop off rules as designated by the ride leaders.
Refrain from interfering with ride leaders during the activity, unless in an emergency.
5. Volunteers and Ride Leaders:
Act as positive role models for all members.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Communicate clearly and effectively with riders and parents/guardians.
Adhere to Project Active’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate boundaries with junior members.
Report any concerns or incidents to the designated safeguarding officer.
6. Consequences of Violating the Code of Conduct:
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension from activities, or expulsion from the group, depending on the severity of the offence.
Project Active reserves the right to take appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
7. Reporting Concerns:
If you have any concerns about safety, behaviour, or safeguarding, please report them to a ride leader or the designated safeguarding officer: [Name and Contact Information].
