“It sounds silly, but I was not sure how to get fit and then how to sustain that fitness.  I saw a Project Active flyer first then heard about Project Active through a friend.

Initially, I joined Project Active in 2014 for the spinning. The spin classes were/still challenging and fun with a good mix of tunes to keep the tempo up.

After gaining some initial fitness I joined in more classes and with Ben’s encouragement went on to finish a 140mile (1 day) wiggle sponsored bike sportive across the Brecon Beacons which smashed my expectations.

As time went on setting myself new challenges and adventures along the way.

After a few operations (hip replacement, partial knee replacement and a shoulder rebuild with added metalwork),  Ben has helped me through all my rehabilitation work. With his knowledge of exercise, human movement and human anatomy, he’s managed to adapt his classes and exercises to get me back to 100% recovery.

After a few years with Project Active and during these difficult lockdown times when classes can’t happen, Ben has adapted his business and constantly keeps things fresh and interesting. Bringing together a great group of like-minded people to make a great support network and make the online classes good fun and a great laugh too.

The benefits from these classes on my physical and mental health during lockdown have been great.

Ben always makes the classes fun, giving encouragement when it’s needed too, correcting form and offering alternative exercises if he thinks it’s needed.

Ben is pretty constant, positive and encouraging all in a cool, calm, controlled manner without being condescending and not barking orders.

Joining Project Active has also introduced me to a great bunch of fun, like-minded people, who all like to meet up and try one of Ben’s adventures which may include stand up paddle board trips, kayaking, mountain biking, road cycling, hill walking or entering a duathlon, triathlon or another event as a team.

A couple of years ago, we even caught up for a few beers and a catch up in Las Vegas….

Looking forward to the future with Ben, Project Active and the rest of the tribe.

If you are thinking about starting on health & fitness path, or fancy a change from the boring gym – go and have a coffee and chat with Ben first – NO BRAINER”
