Over an arduous route spanning roughly 50km (30+ miles) and incorporating a brutal 3,700m+ (12,000ft+) of ascent, you will traverse three formidable mountain ranges:

• The Snowdon Massif: Kicking off on the highest peak in Wales, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), and tackling the legendary, exposed Grade 1 scramble of Crib Goch.
• The Glyderau: Where technicality meets sheer ascent. Here, peaks like Elidir Fawr and Tryfan will test your head for heights and scrambling skills over rocky, rugged terrain.
• The Carneddau: A vast, sometimes remote range where endurance is key. You'll move swiftly (or staggeringly!) over the long, sweeping ridges of Carnedd Llewelyn and Foel Fras.

Phase 1:

• The Training Ground.1 – Cadair Idris
• Sunday 19th April 2026 - DAY TRIP

Cadair Idris (or Cader Idris), meaning "The Chair of Idris," is one of Wales's most iconic and spectacular mountains, presiding over the southern end of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia).

• The Challenge: A robust and scenic 'Training walk (typically -12/15 miles) across the Minffordd Path. (Considered by some to be the hardest route, it offers the most dramatic views, particularly as it climbs steeply through native woodland and follows the curve of the cliffs high above Llyn Cau.)
• The Benefit: This provides a controlled environment to test your kit, gauge your fitness, and practice hill-walking techniques under guidance.
• Logistics: All relevant information, including route maps, meeting points, and timings, will be clearly presented in advance.

Phase 2: 

• The Training Ground.2 – Tryfan North Ridge and around (Intro to scrambling)

• Sunday 31st May 2026 - DAY TRIP

Tryfan's North Ridge is arguably the most famous and beloved Grade 1 scramble in the UK. ​The scrambling starts almost immediately from the roadside and is sustained for the majority of the ascent to the summit. It is virtually impossible to reach the summit without putting hands on rock.

• The Challenge: It is considered one of the most physically demanding and sustained Grade 1 scrambling routes.
• Landmarks: It features iconic rock formations like The Cannon Stone and culminates with the twin summit pillars of Adam and Eve.

• The Main Event – Snowdonia

• Full Support: Ben is there for you every step of the way, providing encouragement and real-time support, ensuring no one is left behind.

Ben prioritises your safety above all else. I guarantee comprehensive risk management protocols:

• Qualified First Aid: I am certified in high-level mountain first aid and carry comprehensive emergency equipment.
• Support Crew - We will have a minibus and dedicated driver for the main event to aid and step in when necessary.  
• Weather Management: I constantly monitor the fast-changing welsh mountain weather and I am fully prepared to make safe decisions, including route adjustments or turning back IF conditions demand it.
• Kit Checks: I provide a mandatory, detailed Kit List and perform checks before departure to ensure every participant has the essential gear (waterproofs, warm layers, appropriate footwear, head torch, etc.).
• Communication: I carry appropriate navigation (map & compass) and emergency communication tools (e.g., dedicated radios/trackers) beyond mobile phones.

The Physical Fear: "Am I Fit Enough?"

The Answer: The Welsh 3000s is extremely demanding and requires a very high level of fitness. It's significantly tougher than the National Three Peaks Challenge because it's continuous.

• If aiming for 24 Hours: You need excellent aerobic fitness, experience running or speed hiking over long distances (50km+), and the ability to sustain effort for 18-24 hours with minimal rest. Train by doing long back-to-back mountain days.
  

The Logistical Fear: "How Do I Even Get There?"

The thought of organising transport, finding accommodation, securing parking at 6 AM, and navigating Welsh roads can feel more challenging than the mountain itself.

• The Internal Worry: "I don't know the area, the Pen-y-Pass parking is a nightmare to book, and I don't want to drive home exhausted after a long day on the mountain."
  
• The Reality: Mountain logistics are complex, especially in a busy National Park.
  
• Our Solution: We provide all-inclusive, return transport. You meet us at a central hub, relax, sleep, and travel directly to the trailhead. You start fresh and arrive home without touching a wheel.
  

The Safety & Exposure Fear: "What If I Get Lost or Hurt?"

This is a real mountain, and the thought of unpredictable weather, tricky navigation in a fog, or sharp, exposed ridges can be genuinely terrifying.

• The Internal Worry: "What if the weather turns? What if I slip? I have no idea how to read a map or use a compass on a mountain."
• The Reality: Unprepared walkers account for the majority of rescue call-outs.
• Our Solution: You are hiking with a qualified Mountain Leader (ML). They carry the map, compass, first aid kit, and emergency shelter. They manage the weather risk, they select the safest routes for beginners, and they are trained to handle any on-mountain situation. Your safety is our job.

The Gear & Preparation Fear: "I Don't Have The Right Stuff."

You've read endless lists about waterproofs, boots, layers, and emergency supplies. The cost and confusion of buying technical gear for a single trip feels overwhelming, leading to inaction.

• The Internal Worry: "I don't own proper hiking boots—just trainers. I don't know what to pack, and I'm afraid of spending a fortune on the wrong equipment only to find out I'm still underprepared."
  
• The Reality: The right kit is essential for mountain safety, but the terminology and expense are a huge barrier to entry.
  
• Our Solution: We provide a clear, concise, non-negotiable Kit List and offer dedicated pre-trip advice on where to source affordable, suitable gear. Crucially, your guide performs a quick kit check before the walk to ensure you have the required layers and essentials, offering immediate, friendly guidance if anything is missing. We demystify the gear so you can focus on the adventure.
  

Technical Difficulty and Scrambling

This is a valid concern. The route includes Grade 1 scrambles, which are dangerous in poor weather or for those with no experience or a bad head for heights.

• Crib Goch (Snowdon Massif): This is a knife-edge arête that is highly exposed. You must be comfortable with exposure and using your hands for balance and movement. If the weather is windy or icy, this section can become lethal and an alternative path is essential.
  
• Tryfan: The ascent and descent of Tryfan requires sustained scrambling over large, rough boulders.
  
• Preparation: You must do reconnaissance hikes and scrambles beforehand. Practice on other Grade 1 scrambles in good weather to build confidence and technique.
  

The "What If I Need The Loo?" Fear (Privacy/Embarrassment)

While often unspoken, a major logistical concern for many, particularly female first-timers, is the lack of restroom facilities over a 6-8 hour hike in the wilderness.

• The Internal Worry: "What do I do for 8 hours without a toilet? This is embarrassing, and I have no idea about mountain etiquette for privacy."
  
• The Reality: Except for the summit café (which can be closed) and the start point, there are no facilities. It's a genuine worry that often leads to dehydration or anxiety.
  
• Our Solution: Our comprehensive briefing includes discreet, practical advice and a supportive environment for dealing with nature breaks on the mountain. Your guide is trained to manage these situations professionally and will share "Leave No Trace" principles, ensuring you feel prepared, comfortable, and respected throughout the entire walk.
